Booking & Cancellation Policy
1. Your Journey
Lati-Tude Travel offers pre-designed travel journeys that are arranged and coordinated for travelers through independent local service providers.
A booking becomes confirmed only after the traveler has completed the required Booking Agreement and Lati-Tude Travel has received the required payment.
The Booking Agreement contains the detailed terms governing the traveler’s booking and participation in the journey.
2. Payment Schedule
The payment schedule applicable to the selected journey will be provided before booking.
Required payments must be received by the applicable deadlines stated in the traveler’s Booking Agreement or booking materials.
All payment deadlines are calculated in relation to the Journey Start Date, meaning the date the Lati-Tude Travel itinerary begins.
Failure to make a required payment by its deadline may result in cancellation of the booking and loss of amounts previously paid, subject to the terms of the Booking Agreement.
3. Non-Refundable Payments and Traveler Cancellation
Payments made toward a Lati-Tude Travel journey are non-refundable except where a refund is expressly provided under the applicable Booking Agreement or required by applicable law.
If a traveler cancels, the traveler remains responsible for the cancellation terms and payment obligations stated in the Booking Agreement.
Travelers should review the cancellation terms carefully before making payment.
4. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is not included in the price of the journey unless expressly stated otherwise.
Travelers are required to purchase and maintain comprehensive travel insurance in their own name for the applicable journey.
The policy should provide appropriate coverage for:
trip cancellation;
trip interruption;
emergency medical treatment and care; and
other travel-related risks appropriate to the traveler’s circumstances.
Travelers should confirm that their policy provides sufficient coverage for the full journey, including the applicable destinations, activities, limits, exclusions, covered reasons, and claim procedures.
One comprehensive travel insurance policy may provide multiple types of coverage. Travelers do not necessarily need a separate policy for each type of protection.
Lati-Tude Travel does not sell, issue, administer, or guarantee travel insurance and does not determine whether an insurer will approve or deny a claim. The traveler is responsible for selecting the insurer and understanding the policy purchased.
Failure to obtain or maintain required travel insurance does not create a right to a refund except where required by applicable law.
5. Recommended Emergency Evacuation Protection
Because Lati-Tude journeys may include remote areas of Tanzania and safari environments where access to medical care can be limited, Lati-Tude Travel strongly recommends dedicated emergency medical evacuation coverage.
Lati-Tude Travel specifically recommends:
AMREF Flying Doctors — Maisha Tourist Plus, Tourist Silver Plus
This program is designed for travelers in East Africa and provides emergency medical evacuation and assistance services in covered areas including Tanzania, Zanzibar, and Kenya.
Travelers who choose AMREF should purchase the coverage directly and in their own name and should review the current plan terms, eligibility, coverage period, exclusions, limitations, and benefits before purchase.
AMREF is a recommendation by Lati-Tude Travel and is not a requirement to purchase a particular insurance company or insurance product. Travelers may choose another emergency evacuation provider if they prefer, provided they maintain appropriate protection for the journey.
Lati-Tude Travel does not sell or administer the AMREF plan and does not guarantee any evacuation, medical service, claim, or benefit.
6. Zanzibar Inbound Insurance
For journeys that include entry into Zanzibar, travelers must comply with Zanzibar’s applicable inbound travel-insurance requirements.
This insurance is separate from a traveler’s comprehensive travel insurance and may be required even when the traveler already has other medical, evacuation, or travel insurance.
Travelers are responsible for obtaining the required Zanzibar coverage in accordance with the current official requirements. Lati-Tude Travel will provide travelers with applicable information and instructions as part of the booking process.
Because government requirements, prices, procedures, and coverage terms may change, travelers should rely on the current official Zanzibar requirements provided at the time of travel.
7. Airfare and Separately Arranged Transportation
International airfare is not included unless expressly stated in the selected journey.
Any airfare or transportation that is arranged separately from the Lati-TudeTravel package remains subject to the terms, schedules, fees, restrictions, and policies of the applicable airline or transportation provider.
Travelers are responsible for providing accurate travel information and ensuring that separately arranged transportation is compatible with the Lati-Tude Travel itinerary.
8. Passports, Visas, and Entry Requirements
Travelers are responsible for maintaining valid passports, obtaining required visas or permits, and complying with applicable entry, immigration, health, vaccination, customs, and other government requirements.
Requirements may change. Travelers should verify current requirements with the appropriate government authorities before travel.
Lati-Tude Travel may provide general travel information but does not guarantee admission to Tanzania, Zanzibar, or any other destination.
9. Traveler Responsibilities
Travelers are responsible for:
providing accurate traveler information;
meeting payment deadlines;
maintaining required travel documents;
obtaining required insurance;
complying with applicable laws and regulations;
following reasonable instructions from transportation providers, accommodations, guides, activity providers, and other service providers; and
conducting themselves in a manner that does not endanger themselves or others.
A traveler may be responsible for additional costs resulting from inaccurate information, missed transportation, failure to comply with requirements, personal misconduct, or other circumstances within the traveler’s responsibility.
10. Independent Travel Service Providers
Lati-Tude Travel arranges and coordinates travel services through independent local professionals and service providers.
These providers may include accommodations, transportation providers, safari professionals, guides, activity providers, and other tourism-service businesses or individuals.
The underlying services are performed by those independent providers and not by Lati-Tude Travel.
Lati-Tude Travel does not represent itself as the Tanzanian operator, guide, driver, accommodation provider, activity operator, or other underlying provider of those services.
11. LATI-TUDE Travel Presence During a Journey
On select journeys, Lati-Tude Travel personnel may be present for portions of the itinerary as a point of contact for the traveler and to remain informed about the overall travel experience.
12. Changes, Substitutions, and Significant Changes
Travel arrangements may occasionally require changes because of provider availability, operational considerations, weather, government requirements, transportation schedules, or other circumstances.
Where reasonably possible, Lati-Tude Travel will seek comparable alternatives when a planned service cannot be provided as originally arranged.
If a significant change materially affects the journey, Lati-Tude Travel will communicate the change and any applicable options in accordance with the Booking Agreement and applicable law.
13. Circumstances Beyond Reasonable Control
Lati-Tude Travel and its independent service providers may be affected by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, government actions, political or civil disturbances, transportation disruptions, health emergencies, wildlife-related conditions, infrastructure failures, or other unforeseen events.
Such circumstances may require changes, delays, substitutions, or cancellation of portions of an itinerary.
Travelers are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance to address covered losses arising from such circumstances.
14. Safari, Wildlife, and Travel Risks
Travel in Tanzania, including safari travel, involves inherent risks that may not exist in ordinary urban travel.
These may include rough roads, remote locations, wildlife encounters, weather conditions, limited medical facilities, transportation risks, insects, illness, and other environmental or activity-related risks.
Travelers are responsible for considering their personal circumstances and obtaining appropriate medical and travel advice before participating.
15. Personal Property and Expenses
Travelers are responsible for their personal belongings, valuables, documents, money, medications, and other property throughout the journey.
Lati-Tude Travel is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, or delay involving personal property except where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
Personal expenses not expressly included in the selected journey are the traveler’s responsibility.
16. No Guarantee of Specific Experiences or Third-Party Performance
Lati-Tude Travel cannot guarantee specific wildlife sightings, weather conditions, transportation schedules, availability of particular providers, or other experiences that depend on circumstances outside Lati-Tude Travel’s control.
Lati-Tude Travel will coordinate with independent providers in accordance with the arrangements made for the traveler but does not guarantee the performance of independent third parties.
17. Disputes, Governing Law, and Other Terms
The traveler’s Booking Agreement contains the detailed provisions concerning disputes, governing law, limitations of liability, electronic acceptance, and other contractual matters.
The Booking Agreement should be reviewed carefully before acceptance and payment.
If any provision of the Booking Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the extent permitted by applicable law.
18. Booking Agreement and Traveler Acceptance
Before payment and confirmation, the traveler will be provided with the applicable Booking Agreement.
By accepting the Booking Agreement and making the required payment, the traveler acknowledges that they have reviewed and accepted the applicable booking terms.
The Booking Agreement, together with the applicable journey information and payment terms, governs the traveler’s booking.
